Friday storms - photos and video

VIDEO: Friday storms

Not a whole lot to report with today's action, though it definately beat what I saw yesterday after a 1,000-mile drive. A small isolated cell popped up ahead of the main squall line and passed over the Kanawha Valley at Belle (east of Charleston). A little storm structure was even visible with this, with a (very high) rain-free base and a distinct attempt at a wall cloud. No rotation was evident as this feature elongated and passed nearly overhead.

The main squall line moved in about 15 minutes later. Lightning wasn't too bad, but with the horizons around here being 15 to 25 degrees high, it was hard to see much of it. One bolt was cooperative, hitting a mountainside straight ahead.
