Supernumerary Rainbow

I was able to snap a few shots of a somewhat rare supernumerary double rainbow at the house in Raleigh this afternoon. This type of rainbow is one with several additional sets of repeating colors on the inside of the lower arc. In this case, I was able to see at least two additional sets of color bands.

Double rainbow

The light shower that was responsible for this was small enough to allow blue sky to appear behind the rainbow in places.
