6/13 southwestern Illinois storms
Robert Duffield, Ben Cuenin and I chased Sunday afternoon in a circuit from O'Fallon to Litchfield, then to Staunton, Livingston, Alhambra, Hamel and finally ending at Lebanon. The storm at Staunton/Livingston displayed the most promising signs of organization, with a solid and dramatic updraft base maintaining itself until a merger with the storm to its south. Lightning was fairly intense, but difficult to capture with the high ambient daylight. A high-contrast display of sunset convection from Hamel to New Baden rounded out the evening. All in all, a good general storm photography day.
