This radar map shows the coverage and intensity of precipitation over the region, as detected by the National Weather Service radar unit located just off of Corridor G near the Southridge Centre shopping complex in Charleston. Light green colors indicate light rain; dark green represents moderate rain; yellow, orange and red colors indicate heavy rain. Orange and red colors usually indicate a thunderstorm. During quiet weather, this image may show 'false echoes' (large areas of red and yellow) due to the radar's beam picking up 'ground clutter' around the radar site.Refresh this page for the latest image.
